European Dendroecological Fieldweek 2016

The European Dendroecological Fieldweek 2016 will be held in the small village Kranjska gora, located in scenic mountain surroundings of the Julian Alps. The Julian Alps are a mountain range that stretch from northeastern Italy to Slovenia, with the highest peak in Slovenia called Triglav (THREEHEAD) of 2864 m a.s.l.. They are named after Julius Caesar, who founded the municipium of Cividale del Friuli at the foot of the mountains. A large part of the Julian Alps is included inTriglav National Park.

ACCOMODATION

Accommodation and much space for work in groups will be provided at the holliday home·Vila Šumica. We will be the only guest in the holiday home at that time, so there will be plenty of space for us.

HOW TO GET THERE

By Road:
From Ljubljana: A2/E61 towards Beljak/Villach, Kranj, Jesenice, take exit Jesenice Zahod towards Trbiž, Kranjska gora. In Kranjska gora turn left towards Vršič Pass...

By Air:
From Airport Brnik (Jože Pučnik) there is a direct line to the Main Bus Station in Ljubljana.

By Bus:
From Main Bus Station in Ljubljana (http://www.ap-ljubljana.si/en/) there is bus to Kranjska gora every hour starting from 05:30 and last one at 19:30.
