The European Dendroecological Fieldweek 2016 will be held in the small village Kranjska gora, located in scenic mountain surroundings of the Julian Alps. The Julian Alps are a mountain range that stretch from northeastern Italy to Slovenia, with the highest peak in Slovenia called Triglav (THREEHEAD) of 2864 m a.s.l.. They are named after Julius Caesar, who founded the municipium of Cividale del Friuli at the foot of the mountains. A large part of the Julian Alps is included inTriglav National Park.
Accommodation and much space for work in groups will be provided at the holliday home·Vila Šumica. We will be the only guest in the holiday home at that time, so there will be plenty of space for us.
