WHO:
People interested in tree-rings. Beginners, Master and PhD students are particularly encouraged to apply. The fieldweek is an official course of the University of Bern. We can therefore provide successful participants with a certificate of 2.5 ECTS points, which can be handed in at your home University.

WHERE:
The fieldweek will take place in Kranjska Gora, a small village located in the scenic Julian Alps in NW Slovenia and its mountain surroundings.
The 27th European Dendroecological Fieldweek will be held from 12 – 18 September 2016 in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. It will be organized by the Slovenian Forestry Institute (GIS), Slovenia, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, University of Ljubljana (NTF), Slovenia, the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL), Switzerland and University of Silesia (UNIS), Poland.

WHAT:
Topics will cover the full spectrum of dendrochronological issues and foster cross-disciplinary links. Each topic will include keynote lectures, fieldwork, sample preparation and tree-ring analyses in small groups. At the end of the week all participants are expected to present their results and there will be ample opportunity for discussion. Students and leading scientists will spend the whole week together. It will be an opportunity to learn, discuss and make new friends from all around the world.
